The Trans-Caspian Career Olympiad was created to actively identify talented schoolchildren from regions, to a certain extent, remote from the economically developed areas of South-East Asia and Europe, and to help them get a quality university education. These are primarily the countries of Central Asia and South Caucasus - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia.
In modern conditions, this region has a great international logistical and energy potential, the demand for which is increasing every day. It is about the megaproject "One Belt, One Road", which is designed to logistically connect China and Europe. The megaproject area is rich in resources, is home to 63% of the world's population, and has an estimated economic scale of 21 trillion US dollars.
In this regard, the expected structural transformations in the Eurasian region already today require highly qualified and diversified personnel. And this need tends to increase. In this regard, the Olympiad is aimed at stimulating the process of formation of human resources potential of the region.
Successful participation in the Olympiad gives students a real chance to decide on their future profession and choice of university, and get preferential admission.
It is assumed that the profile Olympiads will be held with the support of the relevant departments of universities in China, Turkey, South Korea, Hong Kong, Europe and the USA. The winners of the Olympiads will be oriented for admission to these universities. And this will be his/her first step on the way to his/her future career. Moreover, the Olympiad will provide scholarships, grants, prizes and gifts to the winners.
Career Olympiad has been developed by scholars in the field of pedagogy, psychology and information technology. The main goal is to help students make an informed choice of their future profession, and for universities to increase their ability to attract gifted and motivated students. As a result, the countries of Central Asia and the South Caucasus will receive an additional contingent of young qualified specialists.
At a time when the world is totally focused on science and information technology, it is appropriate to think and plan for the future - a future in which the children of the present become the leaders of tomorrow. There is a need for regular qualitative and quantitative assessment at regional/international level to create a talent pool of scientific, commercial and IT professionals. This is where the Career Olympiad will bring the greatest benefit to the South Caucasus and Central Asia region. Already at the initial stage, many universities, charitable foundations and transnational corporations have expressed their support and interest in the project.
We are confident that the professionalism and commitment of the Olympiad team to achieve its goals will be highly appreciated by educational institutions in the region and leading universities in China, South Korea, Turkey, Europe, and the USA.
The key to creating a large, exclusive pool of scientific and IT talent is to create a mechanism to find and identify young talent and provide them with a unique competitive platform on which they can prove themselves.
